'Potraiting' Philosophy

This is the back cover of my my book. It's my favorite beacuse I inserted my self potrait I drew in art and the quote underneath it portrays my philosophy on life.

Beauty of Nature

I absolutely love nature. I love flowers, raniy sky, hidden sun, everything. Today, Beauty of Earth is hidden with tall buildings. In this world of technology, we don't notice the beauty of nature. In this book I tried to capture small glimpse of this beautiful nature we are gifted with.

Buddies forever

Viviksha Panchal. A best-friend I would never want to lose. I only her since last 3 years but she has become the closest person to me. This is my favorite picture from the book because I like that I have her picture on one side and our picture on other. Picture is quite messy but it defines our friendship perfectly.

Dream your heart away.

For the surreal project I had a complete different idea and theme, however when I was researching some pictures I came across this background and and whole new idea clicked in my head. I am dreamer, and I believe that everyone should dream big and have motivation to fulfill it as well. When a person is dreaming, they are in their own little world. My project summarizes a person dreaming. Background and it color itself gives a dreamy feeling. also the little pictures on the corner summarizes some common dream a person has in their life. I am very satisfied with my project, its exactly how I pictured it to be.

Color therory photowalk :D

This is my favorite picture from the photowalk. I love everything about the flowers. The fact that its right in the center of green leaves gives a contrast. Green and purple are complimentary colors and together they look amazing.

Blue and yellow are primary colors, they  are also complementary.

Pretty flowers. prink and green with little yellow. amazing complimentary colors :D

Idea for Surrealist project

I am planning to use the them of beauty. Since its going to be full moon during the week, I am using moon the dark night sky and stars as my background. I am using some pictures of a woman sitting on a couch or a fancy chair underneath the moon. I am not sure about the changes which will be made during the assignment, however My theme and idea are going to be the beauty of life or beauty in general.

Rafal Olbinski was born in Kielece, Poland. He immigrated to United States in 1981, he soon established himself as a prominent painter, illustrator and a designer. Due to his expertise in art he has been honored with more than 150 awards including gold and silver medals from Art Director’s club of New York.  In 1994 he was awarded the International Oscar for The World’s Most Memorable Poster, Prix Savignac in Paris.
Artist Name:  Rafal Olbinski
Title: Prix Savignac in Paris
Date: 1994
Description:  A woman wrapped white fabric standing near the window at night time. Whole city can be viewed from the window. There’s a blown candle near the window, the smoke from the candle has made a face.
Analysis:  The piece is symmetrically vertical. However it is asymmetrical at horizontal.
Interpretation:  In my opinion, Olbinski is trying portray that when the whole city sleeps a woman at night has a different personality. She has her desires to be loved and too belong to someone. The face created with the blown candle smoke seems as if she is missing a loved one. It just illustrates that at the end of the day a woman needs to feel secured and belong to someone.
Judgment: After analyzing and interpreting Olbinski’s work I strongly feel that he has done a great job conveying his message to its viewers. The colors used in wall and sky look realistic. The fact that he captured the whole city in a small window is impressive. There are no cons to look for since he won Oscar for this painting.
Maurice Tabard was born on July 12 1987 in Lyon. He’s a French photographer who immigrated ton United Sates in 1914. He was always fond of art as a child. But as he grew older he developed his interest in photography. He studied under Emil Brunel at the New York Institute of Photo. After various menial jobs, he worked as a portrait photographer for Bachrach Studios from 1922 to 1928 in Baltimore, MD

Artist: Maurice Tabrad
Title: A Little Tabard Never Hurt
Date: 1949
Description: Image with layers of a tree, ground, Eifel tower and naked feet.
Analysis: The picture had lots of layers. The transparency in all the images is impressive. The picture keeps the viewers eye engage to figure out what’s happening. However its black and white quality doesn’t make it as appealing as a color photograph would.
Interpretation: The tree’s trunk is a figure’s naked legs. Although this picture might be naked in Paris, city of love, the dried tree and the naked legs show that even in the city of love the figure is lonely. The picture give ghost like feeling which once again supports the interpretation of the photograph.
Judgment: Tabard has done a fantastic job. Even though the picture has lot of negative space, it gives viewers ghostly feeling. I my opinion he the pictures are dilated in perfect measure.
graphy in 1916

Although both of the surrealist artists have different methods and materials to work with, they both have same message which portrays how a person can be lonely in city full of people.  They both have humans included in their work. However, because of the time they both have different color scale. Tabrad’s work is on grayscale but it illustrates the same concept of surrealism as Olbinski. They both have the concept of loneliness with sight of city.

Selective Color

For the selective color assignment I chose so make my ring pop out in the image because the blue and the graysacle make a great contrast and catches viewers eye.

Shadow

For the shadow assignment I used a candle as my light source and made different signs . I like this one because it looks like a dinosaur who is going to eat someone.

Photowalk

This is one of my favorite pictures from the photowalk. I really like the fact that it looks natural, it doesn't look like he is posing for the picture. I also like that the man and the dog are walking and it came out perfect.

Partner Portraiture

This is a picture of me erasing Anum as if I drew her and colored her. I thought this would be a creative thing to do since the fade in the image shows the erasing marks. I also like that there pencil marks which makes the photo look real. I like Anum’s epression, she looks scared.

Portrait series

I was excited when I heard about doing a portrait series. I  knew I wanted to do the self portrait. I chose one my favorite outfits which was simple yet trendy. It describes my personality because I am very simple however I do have a heart of a little girl. I chose plain background because it signifies my simplicity. My pictures are black and white with few colors popping out, to illustrate that my personality is hidden and once you get to know me, my true personality of a little girl comes out. This effect also make my pictures are new look and the popping colors catches viewers' eye. I am satisfied with my work and I'm glad I could take this opportunity to portray my personality through pictures.
